Foxconn Invests in Fove for Eye-Tracking Technology
March 25, 2016

Japanese company Fove, which specializes in eye-tracking technology for VR (Virtual Reality) headsets, had raised US$11 million during Series A round led by Colopl VR Fund, with participation from Foxconn, Samsung Venture Investment, and 2020, reported Tech In Asia on March 24. Fove is planning to launch volume production of its HMD (Head-mounted Display) products by the end of this year, with Foxconn taking part in the manufacturing. However, Foxconn's amount of investment was not disclosed. Fove's headsets use precise cameras to track eye movements, giving the company an edge over rivals. The company said it aims to license its eye-tracking technology to other VR companies in the future.
